Boxwood Learning Center
At Boxwood, we support youth ages 10–24 with free tutoring, GED prep, mentoring, job training, wellness workshops, and tech programs like Apple repair and drone certification. Whether you need help with school, a job, or just want a safe place to grow—we’ve got you.
Once registered, you’ll get a welcome package, meet your coach, and choose from activities that match your goals. Earn rewards like gift cards for attending events, passing exams, and hitting milestones.

Getting StartedWhen you first join Boxwood, we’ll meet with you to learn more about you—your goals, interests, and what support you need. You’ll receive a welcome package, get matched with a coach, and begin setting small steps toward your future. You’ll never have to walk this journey alone.
You’ll also get to meet with our team during orientation, which happens every Monday in person and Fridays on Zoom. From there, you can join the programs and activities that make sense for your life.

We're stationed in Roselle NJ. We currently serve the residents of Union County, and Essex County. We plan to expand our services to cover the entire state of New Jersey!
Once you pass the GED test, you will receive a high school diploma from your state department of education.
You will need to take a basic skills assessment to determine your reading and math levels. From there, we would set-up your GED tutoring sessions. The sessions are currently on Zoom, in-person, or Google Meets. We provide one-on-one tutoring or groups up to 4 students.
It's free for youth who are sponsored by the Union County Youth Services Commission, New Jersey Office of Faith Based Initiatives, and other sponsors. Please contact us for additional eligibility information or a fee for service quote.
The exam can be taken at home or at a GED center. If you do take it at home, your laptop or computer must pass the system requirement test.
