βBefore I became an AmeriCorps member, the agency did not offer support services for teen parents, and there were no similar services available in the local community. About half of the students in our GED program are parents themselves, so Iβm proud to contribute to helping young families build economic and emotional stability.
AmeriCorps has also enabled me to develop professional skills, build leadership experience, and receive valuable coaching β all of which are preparing me for success in my career after my service ends.β
